BCTAA attends BCTF AGM
Several BCTAA members attended the 2025 BCTF AGM in Vancouver from March 15-18. They had the chance to meet and mingle at a hospitality suite put on by BCTAA.
More than 30 people made it to our event with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet friends and allies from across the province and discuss concerns we all share – the prevalence of antisemitism, too much union focus on issues not related to teaching and classrooms, and the need for teachers to feel welcome and supported.
Not only was it wonderful to meet everyone – it was productive. With several problematic motions up for discussion and votes at the AGM, it was a great way to meet and ensure everyone felt supported addressing issues.
We hope to do more of these kinds of social events at education-related meetings so like-minded teachers can meet casually, discuss issues, and decide how they can act together to stop antisemitism and focus on core teaching issues.
